Hi
I'm using runtatstic on my iPhone 4. I'm happy with all features, but I'm having the the following problem: the reported actual speed is way too slow while accelerating. Only very slowly the app is approaching the actual speed. I consider it as a really bad problem as it is in the very heart of what the App is all about. Dealbreaker. Stupid me only found it out after buying the app.
I'm using Runtastic for biking in a.o. a velomobile. This goes with speeds up to 50km/h (cruising at 37km/h) and a lot of accelerating and braking in real-life traffic. My bike computer reports usually a 3-10km/h higher speed. Total distance reported by Runtastic and bike computer are identical, ruling out issues with wrong wheel diameter settings on bike computer. On the other hand, Runtastic reports speeds >0km/h while waiting for a traffic light, seemingly compensating the issue. Speed never goes to 0 on time-charts and no spikes to 0 on distance charts, even though I've stopped for traffic lights. Autopause is switched off.
I did some testing to validate the problem in my car. Car speedometer is (by law) always ~5km/h higher than 'true' speed by TomTom road guidance device. Runtastic lags behind ~10km/h on TomTom while accelerating to 80 km/h (on TomTom) and takes 30sec - 1min to report the correct actual speed. It's not the iPhone 4. Crappy App pDashboard reports the correct speeds on my iPhone as compared to TomTom, -/+ 1km/h.
